Mike is a boy. He is ten years old. He is a pupil in Nanjing Primary School. He has got a pet. He likes it very much. His pet is a parrot. Its name is Sally. It is two years old. It’s small, but it is beautiful.

Every morning, the parrot wakes Mike up at seven o’clock. “Wake up, wake up!” It is a good alarm clock. Then, Mike gets up in a hurry. He is never late for school.

On Sunday Mike takes his pet to the park. The parrot is very lovely. It can talk to the people. But it can’t sing. It can say “Hello” “Good morning” and “Goodbye”. It is so clever that many people like it.

One morning, Mike’s mother wakes Mike up at seven o’clock. But he can’t hear his parrot. His mother says, “Sally is ill.” Mike is sad.
