Mr. Johnson has a clothes store. He sells nice clothes. The clothes are always at very good prices.

One day, a boy comes to Mr. Johnson’s store. He looks at a blue skirt. Then he asks, “Excuse me. How much is the blue skirt?” “It is $20.” Mr. Johnson says. “Oh, that’s too expensive.” the boy says. He looks very sad.

Then Mr. Johnson asks the boy, “Who do you want to buy this skirt for?” “It’s for my mother. Her birthday is next Monday. She must look nice in this skirt. But I only have $5. I can’t buy it for her.”

“Well, the skirt is on sale these days. It’s only $5. You can have it now.”

“Oh, that’s really great! I’ll take it. Thank you!” the boy says. He looks very happy now.

“Good boy! I’m sure your mother can have a happy birthday.”
