Mrs Sail worked in a big building in the city. She often went to work by train because she lived in the countryside.

But last Thursday, at the station, the man who worked there said, “Sorry! There are no trains today! The driver is ill, and there’s lots of snow.”

Mrs Sail wasn’t happy!

When they saw the car, Mary and Fred ran outside. “Why aren’t you at work today, Mum?” they asked.

“Because I want to have some fun with you! Go and get your coats! Come on! Let’s all go to Lake Park!”

“Hooray!” the children said. “We can go ice skating there!” And they did.
