In fact, there __________ a story about the picture. Campbell Jones is a young man from Australia. Several months ago, when Jones was riding his __________ on Rottenest Island, a little animal ran after him. It was a quokka (短尾矮袋鼠) , a kind of animal that lives on Rottenest Island.

A lot of wild animals fear (害怕) humans, __________ quokkas are not afraid of people. It is common for quokkas to get close to people on this island. When Jones stopped his bike, the cute animal jumped towards __________. It seemed that the quokka was interested in Jones’ camera and wanted to take a picture. Jones thought it was fun and __________ it.

Nowadays, students’ safety has become a big problem. As students, we should know how to protect ourselves. So, Mr. Li, a teacher from Zhangjiajie, gives us some advice on how to deal with danger.

★If you are in a traffic accident

If a car hits you, you should remember the car number. If it is a bicycle, try to call your parents before you let the rider go. That’s because you don’t know how seriously you are hurt.

★If it is raining hard and there is lighting

Don’t stay in high places and stay away from trees.

★When there is a fire

Get away as fast as you can. Put wet things on your body and try to find an exit(出口). Don’t take the lift.

★If someone is drowning(溺水)

If you can’t swim, don’t get into water. Cry out for help. Remember that danger is never as far away as you think. Take care of yourself at all times.

★If you are robbed(打劫)

Keep calm. If you cannot cry for help or run away, give the robber your money. Try to remember what the robber looks like and tell the police later.

John was a very strong man. Once he got a job cutting wood in the forest. His boss gave him an axe(斧子) and showed him the area where he should work.

The first day, John cut down 18 trees.

“Good,” the boss said, “Keep that up!”

Happily, John tried harder the next day, but could only cut down 15 trees.

The third day he tried even harder, but could only cut down 10 trees. Day after day he was cutting down fewer and fewer trees.

“I must be losing my strength.” John thought. He said sorry to his boss, and he said he could not understand what was going on.

“When was the last time you sharpened(磨快) your axe?” the boss asked.

“Sharpened? I have no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut down trees.” said John.

Today, people in the world have busy lives, and they often feel unhappy under much pressure. In fact, keeping happy is important and necessary for everyone. Most people want to be happy, but few know how to be happy. Money and success can bring pleasure; however, it won’t last long. Actually, happiness depends on ourselves.

Here are some ways to help you to be happy.

The first secret is to enjoy the simple things in life. We often spend too much time thinking about the future, for example, going to a famous university or getting a good job after graduation. You should enjoy the simple pleasure in life, such as reading a good book, listening to your favorite music and spending time with good friends.

The second secret is to be active. Many people enjoy dancing or playing sports. You can forget all your pressure and think only about the activity you are doing.

The third secret is to help others. It is a good way to keep happy. You always feel happy when you do something necessary for someone. You can do chores for your parents, help a friend or a classmate, or go shopping to buy food for an old neighbor.

In a word, learning to be happy is good for your health.

I don’t care about the result of the competition .I just love the poetry. It brings me joy and fun.”It is said that Wu has remembered about 2000 poems by now. How amazing !
