Fish hear sounds, though they have simply no ears outside their bodies. However, fish do have ears inside their bodies near the brain, and they hear very well with them. Some fish have been taught to recognize the difference between sounds better than some human beings do.
Many underwater animals make noises only by chance while they are doing something else. Other sounds are real communications of a simple sort, telling one fish of the presence and direction of another. A few noises may be warning messages or discovery of food, etc. The earliest scientific report on fish sounds referred to one of these.
A new field in science is learning to recognize and use underwater sounds. It relies on the same skill that man has shown in recognizing birds and other land creatures by their calls. But this method is a greater challenge than bird watching, for many of the animals of the sea cannot be followed in any other known way. Their voices cry for attention. Yet we still have too little knowledge about many of the call makers. Perhaps the meaning of the calls and what the call makers are will some day be made known more carefully. It is as though the great oceans were for daring man to invade (涌人) them and to learn the secrets of the place from which his forefathers came so long ago.

Kids are bombarded(攻击) with advertisements from every possible source: boards, clothes, walls, TV, websites and radios. Often, even though kids don't have their own income yet, this advertising is aimed directly at them.
Many parents have no idea that their 3-year-old children like McDonald's golden archs. Morns and dads are also shocked when their 12-year-old children insist on(坚持) having Nike sports shoes. The businessmen give kids the message: This product is for you. This is what you need. Nothing else will satisfy you.
How can parents better understand and guard against this?
Scientists show that children are a rich market for business. How much money is spent on promotion(推销活动) to children each year? And what are kids spendingtheir money on?
When finding out what businessmen do to persuade your children to want something, you should know how to teach your kids the ins and outs of buying and saving. For example, try a couple of family activities, and read through some helpful tips. Businessmen have more than one way to win a child. Will the world of advertising change for your child as he or she grows older?

Communication is the process by which we exchange information between people. To communicate well is to understand and to be understood. Communication can be successful only when both the sender and the receiver understand the same information.
In today's highly informational and technological environment, it has become more important to have good communication skills. Here are some important steps to communicate effectively.
Know what you want to say and why. Understand clearly the purpose of your message. Know to whom you are communicating and why.
How will you say it? We all know that it's not always what you say, but how you say it , that matters. Begin by making eye contact. You show trust and confidence when you look at others in the eyes when you speak. Second, pay attention to your body language, since it can say so much more than your words. By standing with your arms easily at your side, you tell others that you are open to hearing what they have to say.
Communication is a two-way street. After you have said what you have to say, stop and listen. Practise your listening skills. Be considerate of others are talking, listen carefully and never cut them off.

Why is Where Are We Going, Dad? so popular? Because it is about how Chinese parents look after their kids. 79.The show makes modern parents think about what they should do with their kids. “In traditional Chinese culture, the father is strict and the mother is kind. But on the show, we see fathers who are much gentler on their kids and more involved(参与)in their upbringing (成长).” said Li Minyi, a professor of early childhood education.
In the past, children were taught to obey their parents’ wishes and look after them in their old age.80 But today Chinese parents realize that respecting their children’s choices may be a better way to prepare them for modern society. As they raise their children, parents are growing up at the same time.
