Children’s Day in Japan
In Japan, there are two Children’s Days. The Children’s Day for girls is on the third of March. On that day, the parents will display (陈列) some lovely and beautiful dolls in kimono (和服). They are the presents for the girls. The Children’s Day for boys is on the fifth of May. On that day, Japanese families with boys fly huge carp shaped streamers (鲤鱼旗) outside the house and display dolls of famous warriors (武士) and other heroes (英雄) inside. The carp is chosen because it symbolizes (象征) strength and success.
