Christmas (圣诞节) is a western (西方的) festival. It’s on December 25. Parents don’t work. Children don’t go to school. Before Christmas, they decorate (装饰) Christmas trees. They put the lights (灯) on the trees. On Christmas eve, the family get together. They have a big dinner. They sing Christmas songs and tell Christmas stories. Spring Festival is the lunar New Year (农历新年) in China. It’s in January or February. When Spring Festival is coming, people are very busy, clean the house, cook Chinese food. On the eve of the Spring Festival, the family has a big dinner. People also watch the Spring Festival Gala (春晚) that night. On the first day of the Spring Festival, people wear new clothes and say “Happy Spring Festival” to each other (彼此).
