An old tortoise lives by a small pond (池塘). It is nice and quiet.
One day, a little bird comes. She likes the pond too, and she comes every day. She always has a bath in the pond and sings some songs. The old tortoise says, “Are you singing or crying? It’s too loud. I don’t like it.” “I’m sorry,” the little bird says and flies away.
The pond is quiet again. “It’s my pond now,” the old tortoise thinks. He drinks some water, and then has a nap. He is happy. But a week later, he is unhappy again. “It’s too quiet,” he says.
