Why is the bear’s tail short?
(One winter afternoon, the bear meets a fox (狐狸) near the river. The fox has some fish in his hand, so the bear asks the fox, “How do you catch them?”
The fox says, “Cut a hole (挖洞) in the ice and put your tail in it, then wait. The fish will bite (咬) it, and you pull your tail out. The fish will be pulled out together.”
“Thank you,” says the bear. He cuts a hole in the ice and puts his tail in it.
After some time, his tail hurts. He thinks the fish are biting it. He begins (开始) to pull his tail.
But he can’t pull out his tail because the water turns into ice. He pulls hard. But only part (部分) of his tail comes out. Since then (从那时起) the bear has a very short tail.
