Rose has lots of books in her bedroom. She reads them all the time. Rose says, “Look! I have 79 books. ” “Reading is fun. But I think, ” says Rose’s dad, “you should go out and play in the sun. ” |
So Rose goes to the park and plays with her toys. After 10 minutes, Rose has a storybook in her hands. She is telling a story to the toys. “Reading is fun, of course. But I think, ” says Rose’s dad, “you should learn to ride a horse. ” |
So Rose goes to a farm (农场). She rides a horse. After 10 minutes, she stops (叫停) the horse and reads a book to him. “Reading is good for you. But I think, ” says Rose’s dad, “you should learn to dance. ” |
So Rose learns to dance. She kicks and kicks some more. Then she gets a book and reads in the dance room. |
Rose and Dad are in the living room. “Rose, I know the thing, ” says Rose’s dad, “you really like to do... ” |
“is reading, so I bought (买了) some books. I think you will like them. ” Rose counts all her new books. “Dad! 24 books!” |
“So many books! Oh, thank you, Dad. Now I have 103!” says Rose, “come to my bedroom and read with me. ” |
So Rose and her dad read and read. “I love books, Dad, ” says Rose, “but I love you even more (更多). ” |

I’m Linda. My hobby is collecting stamps. I have about nine hundred stamps. I like stamps because they are very beautiful and interesting. Every stamp is a nice picture and from it you can learn a lot. Some stamps are about Chinese Zodiac (生肖). They show us the traditional (传统的) art of China. Some stamps are about animals, there are beautiful fish, colourful birds and strong tigers and so on. And some stamps are about the great people, like Mao Zedong, Sun Yatsen. I like collecting stamps very much.
