Hi, I’m Joe. How was your summer holiday? My summer holiday was really great! I went to Hainan with my parents. We swam in the sea. My father went boating and my mother took many pictures. I was very excited. In September, I’m going to No.1 Middle School. I’m going to study Chinese, English, maths, history and many other subjects. How about you? What are you going to learn?

His favourite sport is playing baseball. He often plays it after class at school. Maria is Jim’s sister. She likes swimming very much. She often goes swimming with her friends. Tom is Jim’s father. He is an English teacher in Jim and Maria’s school. He is good at football. He is in the football team of the town. Jim’s mother, Dana, likes sports, too. She is good at playing tennis. She often goes shopping with Maria. She often buys pretty clothes and healthy food for the family. All the family members like sports and they often go to the health club on weekends.

Lei Feng was from Changsha. He’s very kind. He helped many people. He carried bags for the old people and gave food to children. He gave all his money to his friend’s sick(生病的) parents. Lei Feng didn’t talk about what he did. After he died in 1962, people found his diary(日记) and learned about him. Each year’s March 5th has been named as “Lei Feng Day”. On that day, students do many good things to learn from him.

A crow and an old fox

One day a crow (乌鸦) is sitting in a big tree. She has a piece of meat in her mouth. An old fox is looking for his breakfast. When he sees the crow and her meat, he says to the crow, “Good morning, Mrs Crow! How are you? How are your babies?” But the crow doesn’t say a word.

“You are very beautiful, Mrs Crow. And you have a beautiful voice, too,” says the fox, “Will you please sing for me?”

“How nice the fox is! I must sing for him,” the crow thinks. So she opens her mouth, “Caw, caw!” The meat goes down into the fox’s mouth.

Hello! Welcome to our new music room. Look! There is a teacher’s desk, eight pictures, a big map of China and a nice piano(钢琴) in it. You can see six fans and seven lights. The wall is blue and the floor is white. It’s very great. I can sing and dance in the music room. I like my new music room.

I’m Sarah. It’s warm and sunny today. I get up at 6:30. I go to school at 7:30. I have English class at 8:00. I have Chinese class at 9:00. I have PE class at 10:50. I have lunch at 11:50. I have some chicken for lunch. I have music class at 3:00. I go home at 4:30. I have dinner at 7:00. It’s a nice day.

Hi! My name is Lucy. Welcome to my home! We have three bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, a study and a kitchen. Look! This is my bedroom. It’s not big, but it’s very nice. A desk is near the window. You can see a computer and some books on it. My schoolbag is in the desk. My football and two toy cars are under the bed. Look at the picture of my family on the wall.
