My name is Jim. I’m a student. I live in a small village with my family. There are lots of flowers and plants everywhere. They are very beautiful. In the village, there is a high mountain and many cute animals. In front of my house, there is a river and a bridge. You can see many fish in the river. I like eating fish and it’s very delicious. Today is Friday. I have English, Chinese and music. My favourite subject(科目) is PE. I like my PE teacher. He is young and funny. I play sports every day. I can swim and play ping-pong. I have a wonderful life(生活) in the village.

Qian Xuesen was born on December 11, 1911 in Shanghai. When he was a schoolboy, he worked very hard. He learnt things quickly. In 1929, Qian went to National Chiao Tung University(大学) to study. One day, Qian missed an “s” in the exam. He lost four points(分). From that, he knew a little mistake could make a big difference.

He stayed in the US for 20 years. In 1950, Qian decided to come back to China. He wanted to help China to be a greater country. But the American government(政府) tried to stop him. Finally he came back to China with his family in 1955. Then he worked hard on Chinese science with other scientists. He lived to be ninety-eight. We’re all very proud of him.

Hello, I'm Li Lei. I live in Harbin. It's a beautiful city. There are four seasons in my city. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. It's warm in spring. There are lots of green trees and pretty flowers. It is a little hot in summer. I often swim in the river. It's windy in autumn. I can fly a kite and go on a picnic. It's very cold in winter in my city. But I like winter best. It often snows, so I can make a snowman. I like my city very much.

The next day, she doesn’t go home with the other children. She asks a question to the teacher, Miss Brown. “What did I do at school today?” “Why(为什么) do you ask me the question?” Miss Brown asks her. “Because my mother will ask me the question at home. ”

Amy is twelve years old today. She is having a birthday party. There are many friends at the party. They all come with different gifts. Mary gives her a nice doll. Sam brings a good picture book. Joe buys her a CD of Jay Chou (周杰伦). Amy likes the CD best, because Jay Chou is her favourite pop star (流行歌手). They are singing and dancing at the party. They all have a good time.
