Tom is twelve years old. He is a student. He can speak Chinese and English. He goes to school at 6:30. He often goes to school by bike. Sometimes he goes to school by bus. He doesn’t go to school on Sunday. He often gets up at eight o’clock and has breakfast at half past eight on Sunday morning. He always goes to the library on Sunday afternoon. He likes to read books.

My friend Jack works in a bus company (公司). He works hard from Monday to Friday. At weekends, he always does different things. On Saturdays, he stays at home. He usually listens to music, reads books and watches TV with his sons. Sometimes he goes fishing with me. On Sundays, he goes to a farm by car with his family. His uncle and aunt live there. Last Saturday, I went to London with my parents. Mum drove us there in the car. My cousin Michael went to London too, but he went there by train. He had a heavy bag with him. “Put your bag in our car, Michael,” Dad said, “We’re going to walk now.” “No, thanks. Maybe I can use it,” Michael said. We went to the Car Museum first. I asked Dad lots of questions, but he didn’t know the answers. Michael took a book about cars out of his bag. “Here you are!” he said to Dad, Then Dad found the answers in the book. When we left the museum, it was rainy. “It’s OK,” said Michael. “I have an umbrella in my bag.” Then we went to a restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, we wanted to go to the cinema, but we couldn’t find it. Michael took a map of London out of his bag and we soon found it. After the film, Michael wanted to buy a card, but he didn’t have any money in his pocket. “Look for it in your bag!” we all said.

Everyone needs to know the rules of the road.

In China, when you cross the road, look left and right. Please walk on the zebra crossing（斑马线）. You can take your friends’ hands when you cross the road. Don’t play or run on the road.

Always watch out for cars and buses. Don’t play beside the cars. When you see the red light, please stop and wait. You can’t ride a bike on the street before you are twelve years old. Go down the street on the right side of the road. Take turns to get on the bus. Don’t play or speak loudly on the bus. Always fasten your seat belt（系好安全带）in a car. Let’s be safe on the way.

I live in a small town with dirty air all around before. There was no tall buildings and the roads were narrow(狭窄的). There were not many cars or taxis on the road but the traffic was OK then.

Today, there are tall buildings, big shopping malls and factories(工厂) everywhere. The roads are big and there are so many cars and taxis. We have more parks and the air is much cleaner. But in some places, with the development(发展) of the industry(工业), we have fewer trees. Air and water pollution(污染) is becoming more and more serious(严重的). We must do something to stop pollution and make our town more beautiful.
