One day, Cao Cao gets an elephant. He wants to know its weight. But the elephant is so big. Its big body looks like a wall and its ears look like two big fans. Nobody can weigh the elephant.

Cao Cao’s little son, Cao Chong tells Cao Cao he can weigh it. Cao Chong first lets the elephant go onto a boat in the river. He marks the water line on the boat.

Then, Cao Chong lets the elephant come back to the bank. He asks people to put some heavy stones in the boat.

Cao Chong weighs each of the stones. In this way, he weighs the elephant. Cao Cao is very happy. “Your idea is so great! What a clever boy!”

It’s a fine day. Mother takes me to the market. There’re many shops and people. First, we go to the ration shop. Mother buys wheat, rice, sugar and dal. Next, Mother stops at the vegetable shop. I ask: “Are you going to buy vegetables?” “No,” she says. Then, we come to an oil depot. The shop is filled with the smell of oil. Mother complains to the shopkeeper, he is not happy. We reach the fish market. I love fish, but Mother doesn’t buy the fish for me today. We stop at the dairy. Mother buys some ghee(印度酥油) and paneer(印度奶酪).

At last, we go to the cloth shop. Mother likes feeling cloth, but she doesn’t buy even one saree(纱丽服). I see many toys in the toy shop, I will not ask for a toy today.

One morning, Bill said he was ill. His mother called a taxi to the hospital. The doctor asked Bill, “What’s the matter, young man?” Bill answered, “I’m feeling sick, I am having a headache. I can’t go to school today, I’m afraid.” The doctor looked him over carefully, and then asked his mother, “What did he have for breakfast?” His mother said, “Well, he had some bread, two eggs, a bottle of milk and an orange.” The doctor smiled, “Don’t worry.
