The Cat’s Family

My family is not very big. There are only three cats. I’ m a white cat. I have a long tail. People call me Snow-white. My husband(丈夫) is a black cat. He has four strong feet. He can run and jump. He can catch mice. People call him Captain Black Cat(黑猫警长). We have a beautiful daughter(女儿). Her name is Lily. She is black and white. She has two big eyes. She’s only two years old. We love her very much.

We live a happy life. We work hard to catch the mice. We must let people live a happy life in this house. We are people’s animal friends.

Mark Twain was a great American writer. He was very busy, and he often forgot things.

One day, he went to a city by train. He wanted to see one of his friends there. When he was on the train, the conductor(检票员) asked him for his ticket(票), but he couldn’t find the ticket. The conductor knew Mark Twain. She said, “Show me your ticket on your way back. If you can’t find it, it doesn’t matter.”

“Oh, it does,” said Mark Twain. “I must find the ticket. If I can’t find it, how can I know where I’m going?”

The Spring Festival is a very important holiday in China. It celebrates (庆祝) the end of the old year and the beginning of a new year. The Spring Festival usually comes in January or February. People do many things to get ready for it. They clean their houses. They buy beautiful flowers, candies, cookies and other good food. People always wear new clothes at the Spring Festival. Children can get lucky money from the old and their parents. Families are going to get together and have a big dinner. Usually, people eat dumplings and watch the Spring Festival Gala (晚会) on TV. They are very happy.

Do you know the Dragon Boat Festival? It’s also called Duanwu Festival. It is a traditional festival in China. Chinese people always eat zongzi on that day.

Tomorrow is Dragon Boat Festival. My family are going to get together. In the morning, my dad and I are going to the supermarket to buy some food. It’s far from my home. So we’ll go there by car. Then my mum is going to make zongzi with my grandma. My grandpa is going to tell a story about Qu Yuan. In the afternoon, we are going to watch a dragon boat race in the park. And he sits down with the other children. The teacher says “Good morning, children. First, we will write a composition(作文) named My family.” So all the children write a composition. This is Mark’s composition: “My name is Mark. My family is very poor. My parents are very poor. Our cook is very poor. Our driver is very poor and all the servants are very poor.”
