One year ago, Jim lived in a small country and he loved playing in the river near his house. When his family moved to a big city, Jim wasn’t happy.

One day, Jim asked his mother, “Is there a river near here?” His mother answered. “No, there isn’t, but there’s a nice park near here and there’s a pool(池塘) in it. We’re going there this afternoon.” Jim was very happy.

After lunch(午饭), Jim and his mother went to the park. Jim wanted to walk near the pool, but there was a sign(标记) in front of it. His mother read it to him, “Warning(警告): This pool is dangerous(危险的). 367 people fell into(掉入) it.” Jim looked into the pool carefully and said, “But where are they? I can’t see them.”

There is an old woman in England. She doesn’t like children at all. But she loves cats. She has black cats and white cats. She has mother cats and baby cats. So the children like to come to her house. They come to play with the cats. More and more cats come to the old woman’s house. Soon there are too many cats and the old woman can’t feed(喂养) them at all.

Then she has an idea(主意) “The children love my cats,” she thinks. So she gives each child a cat. Then she is happy. The children are happy and the cats are happy too. Because they each have a home.

One day, Mr and Mrs White went shopping by car. They stopped(停) their car near a supermarket. They bought a lot of things and they wanted to put the things in “their” car. But Mr White couldn’t open the door of the car.

Then they asked a policeman to help them. The policeman was very friendly to them. Just then a man came up(出现) and shouted(喊), “What are you doing with my car?”

Mr and Mrs White looked at the car’s number(号码) and they were frozen(僵住) there. It wasn’t their car.

Mother’s Day is an important(重要的) day. It’s on the 2^nd Sunday in May. It’s a day children can show their mothers how much they love them. On Mother’s Day, many children give flowers to their mothers. This makes them very happy.

Mrs. Green lives in a small street(街道). She has a flower shop. People who live near her shop are poor(贫穷). The children don’t have money to buy flowers. Mrs. Green helps them. The children work one hour(小时) for Mrs. Green. They clean the windows in the shop. Then Mrs. Green gives them some flowers to take home for their mothers. The mothers have a nice Mother’s Day. Both the mothers and children were happy.

Today is June 2nd. It’s Monday. It’s sunny and hot. I’m very happy. It’s my birthday. I’m twelve years old today. On my birthday I have a party. We eat a lot of food. There are cakes, noodles and fruit. I get many presents. My father gives me a doll. My mother gives me a dress.

I like Tuesdays, because we have art classes on Tuesdays. I can draw pictures in art classes. Sarah likes Fridays. We have music classes on Fridays. Our music teacher is Miss Yang. She sings well.
