A Naughty Boy

John is a very naughty boy. He likes to make jokes. His classmates like him because he often makes them laugh for a long time. One day, a new student came to his class. The student said that his younger brother, Tom, never laughed. No one and nothing could make him laugh. John did not believe this, so he asked the student to bring Tom to his home on Sunday. John told Tom many funny stories. Everyone laughed, but Tom did not. At last, John gave up. On Monday, the student told John that Tom was deaf.

Tom is a little boy. He is four. Today his mother takes him to see his grandma. His grandma’s home is very far, so they go there by bus. There are only twenty people on the bus. They are all sitting on their seats. Tom is very happy. He runs on the bus. His mother asks him, “Why are you running?” “Because I miss (想念) my grandma so much that I want the bus to go faster.” Tom answers.

I have a pen pal. Her name is Vivian. She lives in Alaska. She is tall and kind. She likes singing songs. She can play the piano. She wants to be a singer one day. She is eleven years old. She studies in a primary school. She goes to school by bus. Her father is a police officer. He is very tall and strong. He catches bad men. Vivian’s mother is a reporter. She goes to work by car. She likes music. And she also likes sports. She has a very healthy life.

My name is May. I am 12 years old. I live in Zhuji. What’s the weather like today? Do you know? It’s snowy. I like snowy days because I can do many things outside. I don’t have to stay at home. I can make a snowman with my friends. I can go to the park and go skating. I can go skiing, too. I would like to see and enjoy the beautiful weather. I am going to visit the zoo with my classmates this afternoon. We’re going there by bus and we’re going to get there at 3 o'clock. The bus stop is near our school. We’re going to get on the bus at half past two. Then we can get there on time (按时；准时). There are lots of animals at the zoo. We’re going to visit the lions, the elephants, the bears and the tigers. And we’re going to go home at 5 o'clock.

I’m Daming. I live in Beijing with my parents. My favourite festival is the Spring Festival. It is also called the Chinese New Year. At the Spring Festival, we say, “Happy New Year!” We wear new clothes and I can get lots of lucky money. We have a big family dinner. We have lots of delicious food, such as chicken, fish, dumplings and so on. Besides, I like sweets and peanuts very much. After dinner, we watch Spring Festival Gala (《春节联欢晚会》) together. We have a good time.

Hello, I’m Jack. I have a busy weekend. On Saturday I’m going to do my homework. Then I’m going to buy a book about Harry Potter. After lunch, I’m going to visit his grandparents and play with my cousins. In the evening I’m going to help my mother.

Tomorrow, Sam and Amy are going to get up at five o'clock. They are going to the zoo with their dad and mum. They're going there by bus. Amy wants to see lions, tigers and elephants. They're going home at four o'clock in the afternoon. Sam is going to watch TV at six o'clock. Amy is going to go to bed at nine o'clock.

Mr Smith's room is nice. A big TV is in the room. There is a desk near the TV. On the desk there are some books. And there is a basketball under the desk. The door is green. There is a small fridge behind the door. There is some fruit in it. But there aren't any vegetables. Mr Smith likes taking photos. So we can see many beautiful pictures on the wall. Mr Smith likes his room very much.
