My name is Sam. I’m an eleven-year-old boy from the USA. I study in Beijing China now. I usually go to school by subway with my father. He’s an English teacher in my school. Sometimes, we take a taxi. I am never late for school. My favorite subjects are Chinese and science. We have Chinese once a day and science twice a week. On the weekends, I usually go swimming in the swimming pool. It’s my favorite activity. I sometimes go hiking with my dad. Hiking is his favorite activity. He likes taking photos, too. He always takes lots of photos when(当……的时候) hiking. I like my life in China.

Today is Robin’ s eleventh birthday. He is excited. But after school, all his friends go home. Robin thinks(认为) they forget(忘记) his birthday. He is very sad. Then he walks home slowly and gets home late. He opens the door and finds the room very dark(黑暗的). Then he hears, “Happy birthday!” All of his friends come. They turn on the lights and sing the birthday song together. They have a party for him! At the party, they play games. Robin feels very happy. He gets many gifts from his friends. His pen pal also sends him some postcards. He likes them very much. What a wonderful day!

Mr smith usually goes to work on Sundays. But he didn’t go to work yesterday . It was sunny. He took his children to the park. Amy is his daughter and Jim is his son. They saw many people in the park. Some old women danced. Some young people rowed boats on the lake and some children ran fast. It was very funny. Amy said, “I like playing in the park.”

My friend is Lily. She lives in New Zealand (新西兰). It’s next to Australia. She is a quiet girl. She wants to be a football coach in the future. She goes to school on foot. She has a brother. His name is Jim. He is five years old. He likes singing. Her father is a doctor. Her mother is a reporter. She works in a TV station. She likes using computers. They both (都) go to work by car. They are happy.
