The US Presidents' Pets
President Bush's dogs often play on the lawn (草坪) of the White House, but do you know that he also has cows and a cat? These animals are part of a long history of the US presidential pets from horses and owls to snakes and elephants.
President Bush's dogs are Barney and Miss Beazley. His cat is named India. India has lived with the Bush family for more than ten years! On his farm the President keeps a cow named Ofelia. Bush named Ofelia after a person who worked with him. Bush said that the cow was very friendly.
The 26th president was famous for his pets. His six kids had snakes, dogs, cats, a badger, birds, guinea pigs and more.
Almost every president likes pets. So other countries gave some pets to the US presidents as gifts. The 15th president received lots of elephants from Thailand. The 8th president got a pair of tigers. The 29th president and his family even had a birthday party for their dog Laddie Boy.

Did you know that there are only 50 blue whales in the world now? Did you know that we can no longer see any South China Tigers on the earth? Did you know that thousands of animals are disappearing?
The tiger is one of the strongest and most beautiful animals in the world. Before, tigers could be found in Russia, India and East Asia. But now there are not more than five thousand tigers in the world. People kill tigers for their skins and use their bodies for medicine.
African elephants are the biggest animals on land. They live in family groups. They are strong and clever. But they are dying out too. People in Africa cut down the trees and the elephants have no place to live. Water pollution brings problems to the elephants too. Some people kill elephants for their tusks. They sell elephant tusks for money. No trading (交易), no killing. Let’s work together and try our best to save the animals in danger.

I’m Bob and I’m a student of No.2 Middle School. We have many rules in our school. I think some of them are good for us. but others are not so good.
We have to wear our school uniforms. I think it’s good. If we don’t have this rule, some students will wear expensive clothes. We can’t be late for school and we must listen to the teachers carefully in class. All of these rules are good for our study and I like them.
We can’t take mobile phones to school. I don’t think it’s a good idea. Sometimes our parents are busy and can’t get home early. They need to tell us about that. Look for the Helpers
“Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” I thought about these words when reading news about a man. He acted as one of the heroes in the terrible shooting in Orlando.
In the time of danger, this man kept brave and calm. He helped some people go to safety. Mr Rogers, one of the people said this brave man was a real “helper.”
When I was a boy I would see scary things in the news, and my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in time of danger. I remember my mother’s words and I am sure that there are still so many helpers—so many helpful people in this word.
In times like this, the true heroes come in the world. They are the helpers of our city or our country. I will always remember this saying: “We are each other’s harvest: we are each other’s helper.” Because the world is our homeland and all of us should help each other.

What is happiness?
I often hear people say they want to be happy. But when I ask them what happiness is to them, they don’t know how to explain it. If you don’t know what happiness is to you, happiness is only a word.
Have goal(目标).
If you know what makes you happy, you need to have goals to get those things. You can’t get happiness if you only want it, but don’t make it come true.
Don’t do things that make you unhappy.
