Maths is very important in our life. I like Maths but lots of girls don’t like it. They say Maths is very difficult to learn. I think it is very interesting. Maths teaches me about life. It tells me that there are many ways to solve the problem (解决问题). I am a student in Grade 6 now. Maths began to be one of my friends when I was in Grade 2. I spend most my time on it. Every time I find a Maths problem. I will try to work it out. I am not afraid of the difficult ones. I enjoy thinking about them. Sometimes I know the answer but I still want to find another way. I want to be a Maths teacher when I grow up. I will be kind to my students. I will let them become interested in Maths.

Tommy hates school and is always looking for excuse (借口) not to go. He spends more time at home than at school. On the days he has to (不得不) go to school, he looks for excuses to come home early.

One day he comes home from school in the middle of day. His father is surprised, “You're home early, is the school closed (关闭的) today?”

“No, Dad,” Tommy says, “It’s open. I came home early.”

“How can you do that? What do you say to the teacher?”

“I told her that I had a new baby brother and that I had to come home and help you.,”

“But your mother has had twins (双胞胎), “ his father says, “you’ve got a baby brother and a baby sister.”

“Yes, I know, Dad,” Tommy says, “I’m saving up my baby sister for (为…而储蓄) next week.”

The Great Wall of China is the longest wall in the world. It is about 6, 000 kilometers long, 7 meters high and 5 meters wide (宽). The Great Wall has a history (历史) of over 2,000 years. It was very difficult to build such a great wall without any modern (现代的) machines. Thousands of men died while they were building the wall.

Have you ever been to the Great Wall? It is very famous in the world. Many foreigners (外国人) come to visit it every year. They like it very much.

Sam is my new friend. He lives in the US. We often write emails to each other(互相). He is very fat. Yesterday he ate two eggs and three sausages for breakfast. Then he played football. At lunch he drank a bottle of milk and ate two hamburgers, some fish and chips. Then he played computer games. Do you know what he had last night? He had three hot dogs, two sandwiches and drank a bottle of juice. He often says, “When I am eating, I feel very happy.” Oh, my lovely friend!

Thirty years ago, I was a little girl. I lived in a small house with my parents. We couldn't eat too much, because we didn't have enough food. There weren't any televisions or cars. But now we live in a tall building. We can watch TV every day. We can eat delicious food. We can play games on the computers too. There are many cars in my city. And our city is more and more beautiful. Our country is getting richer(富裕) and stronger (强大). I love my country. I love my city. I am happy every day.

Many English people eat four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner.

People have breakfast in the morning. They eat eggs and bread. They drink tea or coffee at breakfast. Lunch is at one o’clock. Tea time is from 4:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon and dinner is at about 7:30. First they have soup, then they have meat or fish with vegetables. After that they eat some fruit, like bananas.

On Sunday we will have a trip. We will take different bags. Look! I have a beautiful bag. And my bag has got two pockets. I can put my umbrella in the pocket. It'll be heavy for me. Amy’s small but heavy. It'll be hard for her to carry. John's is green and light. It'll be easy for him to carry. Ling ling's bag has got four wheels. It'll be easy for her to carry.

Yesterday my parents took me to a restaurant. I like hamburgers very much. I ate a hamburger, some chips and chicken. I drank a glass of juice. Mum doesn’t like hamburgers. She ate some chicken and drank a cup of coffee. Dad ate two hamburgers and drank a glass of cola. The food was delicious.

Hello! My name is Tim. I like Chinese food and I like sports. I can run fast, I can play basketball. And I can swim, too. But it’s raining today, I can’t go out to play. So I am at home. I’m eating some dumplings. And I am using chopsticks. They are easy for me.
