It was Saturday yesterday. It was sunny. I got up at 7:30. After breakfast, I went to the beach with Ann. There were many people on the beach. We ran, jumped and played volleyball on the sands. We swam in the sea. Some men fished on a boat. We had a good time. We were tired, but happy.

It’s important to learn about your family’s history. You can pass it on to the next generation(一代人). Someday, you can retell your family’s stories. You will be a bridge(桥梁)from the past to the future.

Lee learned that her family moved to the US from their native land (祖国) of China. The time line shows what Lee found out about her family’s history.

Americans usually eat three meals a day. Breakfast usually comes before eight o’clock in the morning. They usually have eggs, some meat, bread, fruit juice and coffee. Lunch is between twelve and one o’clock. It is like a light meal and working people must take lunch with them or get it near workplace.

Children in school take sandwiches, fruit, and cookies with them or eat in school. Supper, the main meal, is between six and eight in the evening. People cook it carefully. They may have meat or chicken, turkey and duck. They may all have potatoes or rice, vegetables or salad. The drink is coffee, tea or milk. Then comes the dessert.

A young boy is sitting in a bus. An old woman gets on the bus and stands in front of him. The young boy stands up. The woman push him back into his seat (座位) and says, “Don’t stand up, I don’t want to sit down.”

The bus stops then. The boy stands up again. The woman pushed him down and says,” You needn’t give me your seat. I like to stand.”

The bus stops again. The boy stands up for the third time. The woman tries to push him down again. The boy shouts,” Don’t push me, please. I must get off the bus!”

The e-schoolbag

Heavy schoolbags are bad for students’ health. Now the e-schoolbag will help students.

In fact, the e-schoolbag is a computer for students. It is small and light, but it can store (存储) many things for students, such as textbooks and exercises. Students can also use chips. They can put the right chip into the e-schoolbag and read the textbooks page by page on the screen. Students can also use the e-schoolbag to take notes or send emails to their teachers.

Some people say the e-schoolbag is good for students’ study, but some people say it’s not good for students’ eyes. I think time will tell us the result.

   One morning, Mrs Black was going to do some shopping with her daughter, Mary. When they were walking in the street, Mrs Black was knocked down(撞倒) by a fast car and was quickly taken to a hospital.

The next day the driver came to the hospital to see her with a bunch of flowers. But Mrs Black was weak and could hardly(几乎不) speak, so her daughter went in and spoke quietly to her mother, "Mother, the young man who knocked you down is waiting outside. May he come in?"

"Yes, "Mrs Black also spoke quietly," If he is on foot."

Helen usually gets up very early in the morning. She often goes to school at about half past seven. She has her first lesson at eight five. She doesn’t go home at noon. She has lunch at a quarter to eleven at school. After lunch, she has a rest for half an hour. Then she plays games with her classmates. Classes are over at half past four. Helen goes home with her friends at about five. At six thirty, she has supper with her parents. She goes to bed at half past nine. That’s Helen’s day.
