My name is Ann. We’re going to leave our school for middle school. It’s time to say goodbye. I’m excited but sad. Yesterday we had a farewell (告别) party in the classroom. There were colourful balloons and flowers in it. On the desk, there was many delicious food and drinks. We all wore our beautiful clothes. The girl in pink dress was Kate. She is my best friend. At the party, I gave her a book about animals. She gave me a teacup dog (茶杯犬). It has a small head and a small body. It’s smaller than a cup. I liked it very much. We played games and sang songs. We had a good time at the party.

Miss White is a teacher. She teaches maths. She is very responsible (有责任心的) and she loves all the students. Usually, she gets up at 6:20 in the morning. But this morning she got up at 5:40, because she was on duty (值日) today. First, she got ready for classes at home. Then she went to school at 6:50. At 7:00, she arrived at school. Then she ate breakfast in the canteen. At 7:20, she stood at the gate (大门) of the school and waited for the students to come back to school.

Mike and Tom are in the same school. They are in the same grade, too. Mike has English class in the morning, but Tom has English class in the afternoon. After school, they play games together. They often play basketball, play football, fly kites and ride bikes. They can swim, skate, dance and sing, too. They are good friends. They love their school.

Do you know the differences (差异) between rabbits and hares (野兔)? Rabbits look like hares. They both have long ears and short tails. And they both eat grass.

Rabbits are popular pets. They are gentle (温顺的) and friendly animals. When baby rabbits are born, they can’t see anything at first and they have no hair. About eight days later, their eyes open and they begin to grow some hair.

Hares are bigger than rabbits and have longer ears and legs. Hares can run very fast and jump high. They can run about 70 kilometres an hour. Baby hares are very active and they open their eyes soon after they are born.

It was a hot Sunday yesterday. When I was playing basketball, Mike asked me to go swimming with him. I said OK and went with him. We got to a lake. Mike jumped into it and began to swim. He said to me, “Come down.” I said, “No. I can’t swim. I just watch you swim.” So I sat down on my basketball near the lake and watched him. Suddenly, Mike said, “Help! Help! Tom, help me!” I saw his head up and down the water. I jumped up and shouted, “Help! Help!” and look around. But other people were far from us, they couldn’t hear us. I was worried. Just at that time, I saw my basketball. “Mike, get the basketball.” I threw it to him quickly. He got it and got out of the water with its help.

Mike thanked me and said, “How dangerous! If I want to go swimming next time, I should go with my parents.”
