Bob is a six-year-old boy and he is old enough to go to school. On the first day, his teacher teaches him three words (词), “I, you, he”. Then the teacher says, “I am your teacher. You are my student. He is your classmate.” When school is over, Bob goes home. His father asks him, “What does your teacher teach you today?” Bob says with a smile (微笑), “Listen, Mum and Dad. I am your teacher. You are my student. He is your classmate.” His mother says, “No, dear. You’re wrong.” Then she says, “I am your mother. You’re my son (儿子). He’s your father.”

The next day, Bob’s teacher asks Bob to make sentences with (用……造句) “I, you and he”. Bob stands up and says, “I am your teacher. You are my son.” And he points at the other boy student and says, “He is your classmate.” All the students in Bob’s class have a good laugh.

Li Ming and his friends go to his uncle’s home. Li Ming’s uncle lives on a farm near Nanjing. It’s a beautiful and big farm. Li Ming’s uncle shows them a lot of photos about his farm at first. There are many cows, chickens, ducks and fruit trees on the farm. Li Ming and his friends pick a lot of pears, apples and oranges. It is very hot. But the boys still have a good time on the farm.

It's a rainy day. A woman with a dog gets on a bus. It's a big dog and its feet are not clean. The conductor doesn't want the dog to sit on the chair. But the woman says to the conductor, "Oh, I will pay for my dog. Can he sit here like the other people? In the forest, there is a baby elephant. He has no friends. None of the animals wants to be his friend because he is too big.

One day, a wild fire (火) happens in the forest. Many animals run away, but the baby elephant doesn't. He runs to the river, collects much water in his nose and rushes to (冲向) the trees. He sprays (喷) the water on the fire. Finally, he puts out (扑灭) the fire.

After that, all the animals come to him and say thanks for his kind help. They want to make friends with him. They say, “A friend in need is a friend indeed (患难见真情).” The baby elephant is happy to get so many friends and play games with them. He walks through the forest, carrying many small animals on his back.

There is an old rich man. Every day, his three sons fight with each other over their father’s fortune. Their father always tells them to work together, but they never listen to him. The old man says “I will leave all of my fortune to the one that can break this bundle of sticks. ” The eldest son tries first. Though he presses and pulls with his arms, he cannot bend the sticks. The second son laughs, takes the bundle but he still cannot break it. Finally, the youngest tries, the result is the same.

Then the father unties the bundle of sticks. “Now each of you take a stick and try to break it again,” he says. This time, the boys break the sticks easily in their hands.

Father says: “If you stand together, no one can beat you. But if you always fight with each other and insist on going your separate ways, you will be as weak as a stick.”

It is a hot day in summer. A lion is walking along a lake. He is looking for something to eat. He is very hungry. A duck is swimming in the water. The lion is very happy to see him. “Aha, there is my lunch.” The lion says to himself. “Hello, Mr. Duck!” “Go away, bad lion!” says the duck. “I have good news for you.” “What is it?” asks the duck. “I don’t want other animals to hear it. Please come here.” says the lion. The poor (可怜的) duck gets out of the water and runs to the lion. The lion eats him up.
