The Story of the Dragon Boat Festival
Chinese people celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival every year. On that day, we usually have a dragon boat race and make zongzi. Zongzi is a rice dumpling. It looks like a triangle.
This festival is an important festival to remember Qu Yuan, a hero in Chinese history. Qu Yuan was angry with the bad king. He jumped into the river and died. There was a big fish in the river. The big fish wanted to eat his body. People rowed their boats to save his body. People made zongzi to feed the fish.
Today we have a boat race to remember Qu Yuan.
