Amy and her parents had a three-day holiday in Hong Kong last New Year’s Day. On January 1st, they took a high-speed train to Hong Kong. It was their first visit to Hong Kong.

So, they were all very excited. When they were in Hong Kong, they stayed with Amy’s cousin Louis at his home. On their first day, Louis took them to Disneyland. They took photos with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. They played lots of different games and watched a 5D movie together. It was so much fun. Later they had a big dinner in Jade Garden, a famous restaurant in Hong Kong. The food there was quite delicious and they all enjoyed themselves. The next day, they went to Nanya Island(南丫岛) by ship. Amy likes swimming, so they swam in the sea and had a good time on the beach. January 3rd was a free day. They didn’t go to visit any famous places of interest. Amy’s mother likes shopping so they went shopping that day. Hong Kong is a good place for shopping. They bought lots of different things and then went back home by plane. When they got back home in Guangzhou, it was late at night and they were all very tired but still they were very happy. What a great trip!

My name is Jack. I had a nice day today. I got up at 6:30 this morning. I went to my friend Tim’s home to meet him. Then we went to the train station. We arrived in Hong Kong at 10:00 a.m. Tim said he was very excited because it was his first visit Hong Kong. We went to Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀) to go shopping. I bought a new watch there. Then we had hamburgers and chicken for lunch. I think I ate too much because later I felt ill. Tim sat with me until I felt better. He was so kind. After lunch Tim and I went to Hong Kong Island. Then we went on a bus to go to Ocean Park. We took on a cable car (缆车) around the park. I was very afraid but it was fun! We were there for two hours. We watched the sea animals. I loves the animals. After visiting Ocean Park we had dinner at Peak(山顶), From the Peak we can see the beautiful view of Hong Kong. We got back home late at night but I felt very happy.

Yesterday we got up very early. We went to the Great Wall by bus. It was very far. It was about three hours by bus. The guide told us the food there was very expensive, so we bought some cakes, juice and apples. We put them in one backpack. Daming took the backpack and I took the camera, because he said he was older and stronger than me.

When we got to the Great Wall, we saw many people at the entrance(入口). We had to stand in line and waited. It was our turn at last. We began to climb. At first I counted the steps, but soon I couldn't remember the number. It was too high. We stopped to have a rest for several times. At last we got to the top of the Great Wall. We were so excited! We've become real men! We were very happy yesterday!

Xiaoming

Mr. White lives in a tall building. He lives on the sixteenth floor. Every day, he takes a lift (电梯) up and down.

One Saturday afternoon, he went shopping with his little son and bought many things. They drove back and carried all the things up to the lift. Suddenly they saw a piece of paper on the wall. It said, "Dear sirs, there's something wrong with the lift. Please use the stairs now." The son took a bag and ran upstairs quickly. But Mr. White walked and walked.

At last they stood in front of their door feeling very tired. Mr. White began to look for the keys, but he could not find them. Suddenly he shouted in a loud voice, "Oh, no! I've left my keys in the car."

Mike’s summer vacation

 On July 18th,2012, Mike and his parents went to Qingdao, a city in Shandong for summer vacation. Qingdao is a beautiful city with sea.  It was about 2:00 when they arrived there on the first day. They found a hotel and had a short rest. It was really hot and they decided to go to the beach. At about 3:30 pm, they got to the beach. There were many people there. Some were lying on the beach and many children were playing in the water. Mike was playing with them and he was very happy. His parents also felt relaxed. About two hours later, they went back to the hotel. On the second day, it rained all day. Mike visited the history museum with his father and his mother went shopping. On July 20th, they went to Laoshan Mountain in the morning and took a bus home in the afternoon. They were tired but happy.

The students were having their chemistry class, Miss Li was telling the children what water was like. After that, she asked her students, “What’s water like?” No one answered. Miss Li asked again, “ Why don’t you answer my question? Didn’t I tell you what water is like?”

Just then a boy put up his hand and said, “Miss Li, you told us that water has no colour and no smell. But where can we find such kind of water? The water in the river behind my house is always black and it has a bad smell.” Most of the children agreed with him.

“I’m sorry, children,” said the teacher. “Our water is getting dirtier and dirtier. That’s a problem.”

One day, Jack and David went fishing. Jack took his dog Tony with him. By the river, when the dog saw a bird, he wanted to run after it and tried to catch it. “All the fish are frightened and swim away,” said David. “Be quiet! Tony,” Jack shouted at him. But Tony didn’t listen to him. “Next time, I will not bring him here again,” said Jack. “Wait!” said David. “A fish is biting my line.” “Look out!” shouted Jack. But it was too late. The boy fell into the water. “Help! Help!” shouted David. But Jack couldn’t swim. Just then, Tony came out. He jumped into the water and pulled the boy onto the bank and saved his life.
