An old lady was very deaf. She thought everything was too dear in the shop. One day, she wanted to buy a hat. She went into a shop and pointed to a hat and asked.
“How much is it?”
“Seven dollars, Madam,” the salesgirl answered. “It is very cheap.”
The old lady said, “Seventeen dollars? It is too expensive. If it is fourteen dollars, I will buy it.”
“Not seventeen dollars, Madam”, the girl said, “but seven.”
