City life is different from country life. There are many villages in the countries. People live in houses. There are some buildings in the country, too. But usually they are not very tall. There are many tall buildings in the city. And there are many cars and buses on the streets. Children in the country go to school by school bus. Children in the city go to school by car or on foot. In the country, you can see rivers, mountains, and hills. In the city you can see cinemas, supermarkets and museums. Children in the country often catch fish or swim in the river in summer. Children in the city often go to cinemas or museums at the weekend. There are farms and orchards in the country. Children in the country often feed the animals or pick fruit at the weekend. Do you like country life or (或者，还是) city life?

David’s birthday was on a snowy day in winter. He got lots of presents from his family and friends.

His parents gave him a red box with a storybook in it. His mother said, “There are a lot of funny stories in it. It’s good for you.” Mike, David’s best friend, gave him a large box. A toy car was in it.

David’s sister gave him a round box. “It is a birthday cake,” he thought (想). But it was a basketball. David likes playing basketball.

David’s brother gave him a big yellow box. David opened it and there was another (另一个) box in it. The box was green. He opened the small box and saw the third box. This one was blue. There was a model (模型) plane and a short letter in it. The letter said, “Happy birthday, David.”

My grandparents live in the country. They are very old but very healthy. They have a big house and a big yard. My grandma has some ducks and goats in the yard. She often feeds them some grass and vegetables. There is a river near the village. The ducks like catching fish in the river . My grandpa has a big orchard. There are lots of fruit trees in the orchard. My father and I often help him water the trees and pick fruit.

My grandparents are very busy, but they have a good time every day.

   Guo Liang is in Grade Four. He lives in the country. He goes to school by school bus. He likes science. Sometimes he has science classes in the field. It’s very interesting. After school he often helps his parents feed the cows. At the weekend, he usually goes to his father’s orchard. His father has many fruit trees there. Guo Liang often helps him pick fruit. Look!
